Stop Being A Victim To Your Drivers’ Mobile Phone Use

Vehicle Mobile Phone Use

There is a major issue afflicting fleet operators today. Drivers using mobile phones. Having it up to their ear is problematic enough when they have the phone to their ear. But worse is them trying to make and take calls, or select music, or sins of all sins...send a text message!

Just last week we had two fleet operators contact us because they have had accidents reported, which they strongly suspected being caused by the drivers using their phones while driving.

But you don't have to suffer these incidents. Technology can make this issue a thing of the past, and best of all it costs so much less than the rise in your insurance each year!

Say Hello To ProVision ADAS...

ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance System and its primary function is to increase driver safety across a range of 'accident triggers', so it goes beyond mobile phone use. It is a happy coincidence that it also helps to stop the causes of accidents that increase your insurance premium. Best of all, you don't have to buy a half-a-million brand new HGV to get the benefit - our system can be retro-fitted into ANY vehicle!

ProVision ADAS can STOP:

DRIVER DISTRACTION

If the driver’s attention is off the road ahead for approximately 0.5 to 1s, for instance looking down or to the side, the driver receives a loud warning message and the fleet manager is simultaneously sent an alert.

DRIVER MOBILE PHONE USE

If the driver holds a mobile phone to his/her ear, the driver receives a loud warning message and the fleet manager is simultaneously sent an alert.

DRIVER FATIGUE

If the driver’s eyes close for approximately 0.5 to 1s, the driver receives a loud warning message and the fleet manager is simultaneously sent an alert.

LANE DEVIATION

If the driver makes a lane change without the indicators being engaged, the driver receives a loud warning message and the fleet manager is simultaneously sent an alert.

FORWARD COLLISION

If the driver is driving too close to the vehicle in front, the driver receives a loud warning message and the fleet manager is simultaneously sent an alert. This is calculated based on the vehicle speed and the distance to the vehicle in front, which gives a very accurate risk calculation based on average braking distances and reaction times.

So, say goodbye to driver-fault related accidents...

If you want to see these types of accidents become a thing of the past in your fleet, check out our ProVision ADAS page or get in contact and we can give you more information!
