ProVision ADAS

ProVision Advanced Driver Assistance System Increases Driver Safety And Reduces Driver-Related Accidents
ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) is a safety net for the driver and you! It tracks a number of high-risk factors and gives audible warnings to the driver and simultaneously alerts you, the fleet manager/owner.

Accidents caused by driver distraction, fatigue and mobile phone use are a major risk to fleets. Traditionally, fleet operators have had no way to monitor and reduce these risks. Traditional technologies such as tachographs only partially deal with fatigue but cannot help in any way with the issues of driver distraction or phone use.
The ProVision ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) tracks a number of high-risk factors and gives audible warnings to the driver and simultaneously alerts you, the fleet manager. This can stop an incident or accident before it happens and allows you to take corrective action with the driver, in the form of anything as simple as the driver taking a short break, to additional training.
ProVision’s ADAS system is supplied with a forward-facing camera and driver-facing infra-red scanner.
The combination provides the following features:

- DRIVER DISTRACTION
WARNINGS
If the drivers attention is off the road ahead for approximately 0.5 to 1s, for instance looking down or to the side, the driver receives a loud warning message and the fleet manager is simultaneously sent an alert. - DRIVER MOBILE PHONE
USAGE WARNINGS
If the driver holds a mobile phone to his/her ear, the driver receives a loud warning message and the fleet manager is simultaneously sent an alert. - DRIVER FATIGUE
WARNINGS
If the driver’s eyes close for approximately 0.5 to 1s, the driver receives a loud warning message and the fleet manager is simultaneously sent an alert. - LANE DEVIATION
WARNINGS
If the driver makes a lane change without the indicators being engaged, the driver receives a loud warning message and the fleet manager is simultaneously sent an alert. - FORWARD COLLISION
WARNINGS
If the driver is driving too close to the vehicle in front, the driver receives a loud warning message and the fleet manager is simultaneously sent an alert. This is calculated based on the vehicle speed and the distance to the vehicle in front, which gives a very accurate risk calculation based on average braking distances and reaction times.
Here are some of the key benefits of ProVision’s ADAS System:
Monitors High-Risk Factors That Are Shown To Be The Main Causes Of Accidents
SO : You can vastly reduce and even eliminate these factors from driving behaviour in your fleet.
Alerts The Driver To The Danger BEFORE An Incident Occurs
SO : Whether the driver is about to nod off, is not focusing on the road ahead, is using their mobile phone, or any other high-risk actions, the system gives them a loud audible warning to make them aware of the potential danger and get them refocused on the road ahead.
Notifies The Fleet Manager
SO : You can take corrective measures, such as additional training, to ensure that those actions don’t occur again, further reducing your fleet risk.
Uses Special Narrow-Angle Infra-Red Scanning Camera For Driver Monitoring
SO : The camera only focuses on the driver’s face and nothing more.
Only Activates When Vehicle Is Moving
SO : You can monitor driving behaviour without the issues of ‘snooping’ when the driver is stopped or resting.
Forward Collision Monitoring Merges Distance Data With Vehicle Speed
SO : The system can very accurately predict risk of collision, eliminating false positives.
ProVision’s ADAS is flexible and scalable
SO : You can choose to only install forward camera (for lane departure/forward-collision monitoring), driver facing scanner (for driver distraction, fatigue, phone use), or both. Where only partial system is installed, it can easily be added to later.
Key Details
ProVision’s ADAS solution comes in 3 key parts as follows:
Driver-Facing Infra-Red Camera
This narrow-angle camera uses infra-red technology to highlight the light and dark areas of the face, the key areas being the irises and the side of the face. By locking onto these zones, the system can then track any interference with them. For instance, if the eyes close for more than half a second, the iris-lock is lost and a warning is issued.
The scanning camera sits on the dashboard, slightly to the side and facing up at the driver. It uses a very narrow field of view to isolate the face and infra-red to create the high-contrast image required for the algorithm to work accurately.

Forward Facing 720p Camera:
This camera uses standard CMOS sensors and lenses to create a 720p HD image, but sits in a special housing that fits to the windscreen, facing outwards. The system’s software uses this camera’s feed to identify the white lines on the road and therefore creates the lane the vehicle is traveling in.

ADAS Processing Module:
This module brings in the feeds from each camera and uses embedded software to identify the supported risks. Once identified it then emits a loud audible warning to the driver. If this system is installed in conjunction with a ProVision Recording and Tracking Module, the fleet manager can also be sent an alert of each warning generated.
Options
The ADAS system can be purchased as:- Lane Departure Warnings Only
- Driver Warnings Only
- Both Lane Departure and Driver Warnings
- Standalone In this mode the system emits audible warnings to the driver, but no alerts are sent to the fleet manager/owner
- Integrated with the ProVision RTM (Recording and Tracking Module) This allows the dual capabilities of alerts to be logged within the RTM and simultaneously sent as an alert to the fleet manager/owner while being saved to the cloud. It also allows the video feeds to be recorded, should you require that functionality.
